Something that happens in a chat room is that the chatters make an occasional joke.

A “I think it was a squirrel”

B “LOL”

or you might get

A “I think it was a squirrel”

B “Was that an armadillo?”

C “LOL”

So who did C laugh at? It doesn’t really matter. Everyone is happy.

But then you get this scenario.

A “I think it was a squirrel”

B “Was that an armadillo?”

C “LOL B”

Poor A. C goes out of their way to disassociate themselves from A’s comment – “I am only laughing at B today”

Yes, I am A. Traumatised for life because someone made sure they did not laugh at my comment.
