Parachuting into work

I turned the corner into the road where I catch my bus and this large object in the air caught my eye. A closer look revealed it to be a parachute.

It was close to the ground and within a second it has disappeared behind a fence. I didn’t even see the parachutist. This was a building site next to East Croydon station at 7:30am. No one else around seemed to notice.

Next, a paramedic, on blues and twos, tore down the road. He drove right by the building site entrance, carried onto the end of the road, circled the roundabout and returned. Last I saw was him entering the building site.

So, no idea what just happened. The ambulance arrived much too quickly to be responding to a bad landing by the parachutist. Then my bus arrived.
